Currently working at Apple as an ML Research Engineer, Prabh Simran is part of an R&D team responsible for developing core machine learning technologies using NLP and CV. His work involves producing amazing features across all Apple platforms, which have helped to establish Apple as a leader in the tech industry. Prior to joining Apple, Prabh Simran worked as a Research Assistant at Carnegie Mellon University, where he was involved in developing quantum algorithms for classical machine learning algorithms on NISQ devices and beyond. He also introduced a realistic synthetic dataset generation technique that combines the physical constraints of the scene in real-world deployments, which drastically reduced the need for human labeling. Prabh Simran also developed models based on FasterRCNN architecture for pallet detection, a tracker using 3D Cross View Tracking, and a model to count the pallets using geofencing at each warehouse. He achieved 90% daily accuracy at three warehouses, and the system is currently being deployed at 20 warehouses. Prabh Simran holds a Master's degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University and a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science and Engineering from the International Institute of Information Technology.
